I am seeking representation and production interest for my original screenplay, ‘The Last Witness’, a gripping espionage thriller that blends personal redemption with systemic corruption and cartel intrigue.
LOGLINE: A former secret agent turned coffee shop owner is pulled back into a deadly conspiracy when she witnesses a murder tied to a drive containing explosive evidence of corruption, cartel collusion, and military treachery. SYNOPSIS: Kate (40), an attractive coffee shop owner living under a false identity, thought she had buried her past as a covert operative. Her café was meant to be an escape, a sanctuary from the shadows. But one night, in a dark alley near her shop, she witnesses a brutal murder that shatters her fragile peace. The killer is Harry Goldstone (50s), a seasoned hired gun and former secret agent. His victim is Jimmy (60s), a frail but war-hardened ex-military colonel. Jimmy has uncovered damning evidence stored on a drive — proof of widespread corruption, collusion, money laundering, and illegal weapons deals between top U.S. military officials and a notorious Mexican cartel. The operation also fuels drug trafficking and prostitution, lining the pockets of powerful men. At the top of the conspiracy sits Frank (mid-50s), a ruthless major-general orchestrating the illegal operations. Above him, pulling strings from the shadows, is Senator Franklin (60s), a calculating politician who profits from the chaos while keeping his hands clean. When Franklin learns Jimmy is missing — and that he possesses the drive — the stakes explode. Jimmy becomes a hunted man, and Harry Goldstone is dispatched to eliminate him. Kate’s accidental witness to Jimmy’s murder thrusts her back into the world she tried to escape. With the drive now the most sought-after crown jewel, Kate, Jack Killian (45, ex-Marine), and Harry are drawn into a deadly triangle of betrayal, espionage, and survival. The cartel, the military, and political power converge, and no one can be trusted. MARKET POSITION: ‘The Last Witness’ offers producers a high-stakes, character-driven thriller with global appeal. It combines the intimacy of a personal ghost story with the explosive scale of political and cartel conspiracies, positioning it alongside films like ‘Sicario’, ‘Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy’, and ‘Michael Clayton’. I would be delighted to share the full screenplay for your consideration. Thank you for your time and attention, and I look forward to the possibility of a collaborative effort on bringing ‘The Last Witness’ to the screen. Sincerely,
